Dr. Jennifer Ehmann

Dr. Ehmann is excited to become a part of Northern Nevada Pediatrics!

She was born and raised in New York State, received her undergraduate degree at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton and went medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. She promptly escaped, moving west for her pediatric residency at Oregon Health Sciences University and has been board certified in Pediatrics since finishing residency in 1999.

During her time in Portland she met her husband and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to practice in Campbell, CA for a few years. They both were interested in living in the mountains to be able to enjoy the outdoors and moved to the Lake Tahoe region in 2004. In 2005 she joined the Barton Healthcare system serving the Carson Valley, Stateline and the rural community health care clinic in South Lake Tahoe. She was active as the outpatient pediatric medical director and is serving the community through the Tahoe Women’s Community Fund Board, the Soroptimist group and as an El Dorado County Office of Education medical consultant.

She truly enjoys working with kids of all ages and getting to know your family. She loves watching and learning about your child's temperament and how your child fits in the family. She considers it an honor to be a part your child’s journey growing up.

Dr. Ehmann loves to spend her free time outdoors. When she is not trying to keep up with her husband and two teenage boys mountain biking and skiing, she loves to travel and read. Her parents immigrated from Sweden and Germany and instilled a love for travel with early adventures and an interest to explore new cultures. She has been fortunate enough to visit nearly every continent, most recently bringing her boys on a backpacking adventure in Europe.
