DR. KATHLEEN CHRISTOPHERSON

Dr. Christopherson was raised in Tucson, Arizona and graduated from Colorado College. After college, she joined the Peace Corps and worked on a parasitology project in Central Africa. Her experience in Malawi led her to choose medicine as a career. She returned to Tucson and attended the University of Arizona School of Medicine where she graduated in 1989. She and her husband then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she completed her residency in Pediatrics and became board certified in 1992.

Dr. Christopherson has worked at Northern Nevada Pediatrics since 1992. She originally chose this practice because of its partnership with a community program that cared for at-risk newborns. As a veteran of the practice, she has watched many of her patients grow up and become wonderful parents themselves. She feels very fortunate to care for her second-generation patients. Like all pediatricians, she encourages her patients to live healthy lifestyles and sponsors patients riding in an annual local bicycling event. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor with University of Nevada School of Medicine and enjoys having medical students spend time in the office.

Dr. Christopherson and her husband raised two boys who also chose healthcare as a profession. Her hobbies include camping, hiking, bicycle touring and gardening.
